About Your Safety
We at Simply Brilliant LLC want to be sure that all our products are of the highest quality and that they are 100% safe in all aspects. Our products meet or exceed all current international standards for overall product safety, electric safety, toxic materials, hazardous waste, manufacturing techniques and recycling. We strive to constantly improve our products to insure a safe, well-designed system that will last for many years.
All our SolLight solar-powered LED lighting systems are fully tested and certified with a Certificate of Conformity (CE) by the European Union (EMC- Council Directive 2004/108/EC). This states that all our products comply with the essential protection requirements as outlined by the EU for safe use in Europe (which has very high product safety standards). This certificate was awarded to SolLight following extensive inspection including electromagnetic tests based on the high standards of EN 55022:2006 and EN 55015:2006. These independent tests were performed by ETS Product Service AG, in Berlin, Germany on December 13, 2007, under the direction of our European distributors.
Furthermore, all our SolLight products were tested and are in compliance with RoHS (2002/95/EC) and WEEE (2002/96/EC). These certifications stated that Simply Brilliant LLC (d/b/a SolLight) is in compliance with the Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment 2002/95/EC (commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS) and also with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC as described below.
This declaration ensures that the list of Simply Brilliant products do not contain the six banned substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in quantities exceeding maximum concentration values as determined to be safe for toys, sports equipment and food containers.
Further testing was done by the government of Japan which requires stringent chemical tests for all containers that might be used for any food storage (including water bottles such as our LightCap™). The LightCap passed all tests, meeting or exceeding the requirements for various potentially dangerous plastic additives that might come in contact with food or liquids meant for human consumption. These tests are some of the most comprehensive and thorough in the world.
