Eric Jackson

Eric “EJ” Jackson is one of the most respected and renowned kayakers in the world, and we’re please and proud to have him as a part of SolLife. Eric has been using Simply Brilliant (our parent company) products for several years, and even sells them through his website.

Eric has been whitewater kayaking since.,. forever. He’s a former Olympian, four-time and reigning World Freestyle Kayak Champion, the 2006 World Cup Champion, was ranked #1 in the World in 2006, three time winner Teva Mountain Games, and won nine out of eleven major freestyle competitions he entered in 2005. To say that he is a dominant force in freestyle kayaking is an understatement.

In 2002 he decided to start his own kayak company: Jackson Kayak. Within three years he was one of the largest manufacturers of whitewater kayaks in North America and his boats and team members were dominating competitions. In true Jackson tradtion, he’s the president, head of R&D, sales & marketing, professional athlete, tech rep and janitor.

The Jackson’s two kids, Emily and Dane totally dominate junior freestyle kayaking competitions, but to Eric and wife Emily, family comes first. After traveling the world to competitions as a family on a shoestring budget for many years, they finally settled in Rock Island, Tennessee, a couple years ago to build a house and run their business.

Eric has three goals in life:

1. Have a great time kayaking for myself, while improving the kayaking lives of others.

2. Kayak with my kids, travel as a family, live life like each day may be our last, appreciate the past, look forward to the future, live in the now.

3. Work and play hard each day.
